Ethical Issues in AI

Course Description

This course uses an analytical framework to address today’s pressing ethical issues in AI. After briefly explaining the framework and the basics of AI technology, it takes on such issues as privacy and surveillance, transparency, self-driving cars, generative AI (ChatGPT), group fairness, social media and online content moderation, job displacement, and robots as autonomous agents. A theme of the course is that ethical dilemmas, in AI and elsewhere, can be analyzed objectively.
