Description: This course provides a broad overview of the financial markets, its institutions, and the products they create and trade. Our focus will be upon the structures and intuitive drivers underlying the mortgage, credit derivatives, commodities and fixed income and equity derivatives markets. We will look at the participants in these markets (buy side/sell side), the role of the various quant desks and various career paths for “quants” in these institutions. Guest speakers from industry will present six of the seven lectures.
