This course is designed to provide an introduction to managerial uses of accounting information. The focus is on decision making, control, and compensation. Where appropriate we will also discuss tax incentives related to accounting choices, the key disclosure rules in the United States, the communication methods available to managers, and managers incentives and ability to exert discretion over reported earnings.
